World’s Longest Scarf
Our section for the World’s Longest Scarf has been completed and mailed, along with its matching journal, to Rhinebeck, NY! We were able to weave just over 7′ and our donations to Heifer International through Keep the Fleece came to $918, surpassing our goal of $600! The scarf sections submitted will be attached in the Wild Fibers sponsored International Tent during the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival on Saturday, October 17. Thank you to all who donated and supported this effort.
Congratulations, Betsy, Margaret, et al! It looks wonderful. I love undulating twills.
It’s lovely! and I can’t believe how much money was raised! Good job, all!
That’s fantastic!
So many good wishes were woven into that scarf.
How many animals does $918 buy?
What a great project on so many levels.
Keep the Fleece determined the donations would purchase fiber animals for Heifer, though they also provide other animals to farmers. As a single team, we have actually provided either 6 llamas @ $150 each or 7 sheep @ $120 or possibly combinations of both plus a little extra left to help towards the funding of another fiber animal!
Very cool!
I hope teams all over the country/planet raise enough for hundreds of fiber animals.
Project Heifer is such an empowering program.
My congratulations to all involved for a job very well done!!
What’s next???
