Speaking opportunity
I have received a request for someone to speak about weaving at the April Meeting of the Merrimack Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America. I am unable to do this myself due to a prior commitment. All the details are below. Anyone interested?
“Hi Betsy,
This is to confirm our phone conversation from a few minutes ago. I can be
reached by email at this address (pat@neonflamingo.com) or by phone at 781-665-4118.
I am the Program Chairman for the Merrimack Valley Chapter of the
Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA). We meet on the third Tuesday evening
of the month in Tewksbury.
I’d like to schedule some kind of lecture/demonstration of weaving for our
April meeting. The meeting will be held on April 20 at the Tewksbury
Congregational Church. Although weaving is not part of our usual
repertoire, our members enjoy hearing about other textile arts and I
thought weaving would be of interest.
Our meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and people start leaving about 9:00. We
have a short business meeting. Lectures usually last 45 minutes to an
hour, with time for questions at the end. In the past, our speakers have
brought samples of their work, which are always of great interest.
Compensation for the speaker will include his/her lecture fee, mileage
between home and our meeting location. Additionally, some of us regularly
meet for dinner before the meeting and we’d love to have the speaker join us.

Thanks, Betsy, I, for one, am inquiring about it. Love to spread the interest in weaving!

That’s great, Patricia. Let me know how it goes.
