NOBO Meeting February 23 at 7 p.m.

Buttons!

Leah Antinick and Nancie Glazer will be presenting to NOBO on Thursday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m. Their talk will include a brief history of buttons with slides showing the many different types of materials used to make them. They will also talk about buttons as a hobby and bring some of their collection to the meeting for sale.

Leah has been a button collector for over 20 years, a dealer at local button shows for the past 4 years as well as selling buttons, antique sewing items and textiles at the Brimfield Antique Show for the past 8 years. Nancy has been collecting buttons since 1980 while studying clothing history and costuming. Nancy travels the country to do national shows and enjoys finding button collections in unusual places.

Both Leah and Nancie are members of the National Button Society, Northeast Regional Button Association, Massachusetts State Button Society as well as the Metropolitan Button Club which meets monthly in Arlington, MA.
