What a long, strange trip it’s been!
I’m just tickled that they finally showed up on your doorstep.
The UK-US exchange –it truly turned out to be one :-)
Thanks for sharing them at the meeting and posting them here.
I love that they created something a bit more primitive. Weaving really is about the creative process, and getting too caught up in the perfection of one’s weaving can be limiting.
I totally agree. It is sometimes simplicity that speaks to the true beauty of a creative process.
I love handling the fibers, really thinking about their origin, and for me, I realize my focus is more the fiber than the weave structure, pretty much most of the time (this would be an interesting topic for discussion – fibers vs. weave structures). Anyways, with my obsessive interest in fibers in mind and as I have had the opportunity to really spend some time with the British guild’s bookmarks, I realize I have fallen in love with them. I would like to know so much more about the weavers.
We really ought to stay in touch with the Staffordshire Guild :-)
