Happy 4th!

I would like to sincerely thank every single guild member for growing NOBO Handweavers into a guild that is truly beyond what Betsy and I imagined that first meeting in April 2008.

We have gone from this (a section from Gail’s very first notes!) –

Notes from Thursday, April 24th meeting of A Weavers Guild to be Named Later

Next meeting:  Thursday, May 22 7 – 9 pm at Loom with a View.  We need a name for the guild!  A few names suggested at the meeting were Clipper City Hand Weavers Guild, Port City Hand Weavers Guild, Merrimack Valley Hand Weavers Guild, and Essex County Hand Weavers Guild.  Please bring a name suggestion to the next meeting…

to this –

NOBO Handweaver’s 4th anniversary celebration is April 26, 7-9 pm at Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm, 5 Little’s Lane, Newbury.  There is plenty of parking available (even room for Newbury Fire Department’s ladder truck). We will have a short ceremony to recognize the change of court positions before the presentation of Linda Cortright, editor and publisher of Wild Fibers Magazine.

Goodness, CONGRATULATIONS to all of us!  The energy in the room last night was remarkable.  I know we all share in the excitement of our guild year to come and we have many reasons to!

Thank you so much for the flowers and Marshfield School of Weaving gift certificate.  I feel like I am bringing a part of all of you right along with me.  Keep your eyes on NOBO’s website for info how to link to a blog about our days and evenings at Marshfield.

  1. What a fabulous lecture we had from Linda! She’s a real gem; the best lecturer I’ve heard in years.

Thanks, Margaret and the other outgoing court officers, for your work in maintaining such a wonderful guild!

Ladies, have a blast at Marshfield!

  2. Under “Links” select “NOBO goes to Marshfield, VT” for daily updates from Margaret, Betsy, Mary, and Gail as we work on projects in a barn studio on top of a mountain somewhere between Montpelier and the Cabot Creamery.

  3. Yes, Linda was fabulous!
She makes the world so accessible through her magazine but
to meet her in person iwas such a treat.

Thanks for bringing us along on your weaving adventure via your blog.
The next best thing to being there :-)
