Fascinating UK weaver

I just stumbled upon the website of an extremely talented weaver in the UK, Stacey
Harvey Brown. I thought it was pretty interesting that some of her current work includes
yarn wrappings mounted above coordinating watercolor paintings!

You can check it out at:

A lot of her work looks like paintings or photographs. She does a lot of mixed media
work, so it’s hard to tell what’s what. Much of the landscape and seascape work is very
beautiful! She uses a 24H AVL and a Jacquard loom from about 1930. Fascinating stuff!

Has anyone ever seen her work up close?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Patricia

  1. Fascinating, to be sure! This is a marvelous example of the non-traditional, “how did she do that?” aspect of weaving that I find most interesting.

    Many thanks for sharing.
